The Financial Habits of People Who Always Have Extra Money

Think about everyone in your life – there’s at least one who seems to have everything together and isn’t living paycheck to paycheck, isn’t there. You may be wondering how they do it. There’s no secret – they just have healthy financial habits, which you can have, too. Adopt these five habits and you’ll have some extra money to spend, too.

  1. They set aside spending money. Yes, they work hard, but they also allocate some of their money to more “fun” expenses like a vacation or nice dinner. This also helps them avoid impulse purchases, as they only have a certain amount of money allotted to spend on these things.
  2. They take charge of their finances. They’re regularly tracking their income and expenses, they pay their bills on time, and they not only have a budget it, but they check in on it frequently.
  3. They have a rich mindset but live within their means. Instead of purchasing the latest fashion trends, they invest that money in themselves by taking care of their skin, exercising, etc.
  4. They save where they can in their own life. They know that the little things quickly add up and make small lifestyle changes allowing them to save daily rather than all at once, which has a longer impact.
  5. They spend mindfully. They’re not afraid of spending money, but they also won’t buy something just because it’s cheap or there. There’s thought around every purchase they make.
