Lots of times in relationships, people focus on the big things, especially when it comes to arguments and breakups. But there should be a big focus on the small things, too.
“[I]t’s he small things that end up making or breaking a relationship," psychotherapist and relationship coach Toni Coleman explains. So, what are these small things that could be low-key killing your relationship? Here are seven common ones you should watch out for.
- Your partner is a rabid sports fan… and you’re not.
- Your partner isn’t a great listener.
- Your partner spends a lot of time on the phone.
- Your partner uses the phrase, “yes, but…”
- Your partner has bad table manners.
- Your partner doesn’t pitch in when you’re pooped.
- Your partner doesn’t think of you.
