4 Simple Ingredients For Creating A Truly Happy Life

Of course, a “truly happy life” differs for everyone but most people can agree that it seems like a far-fetched possibility. It’s much easier to say than to get. But does it have to be so out of reach? In the words of certified life coach, hypnotherapist, and NLP practitioner Kelly Rudolph, “Happiness is actually a recipe, and you’re simply missing some key ingredients. There's usually a pattern as to why happiness keeps eluding you.” So how can you get that truly happy life? Here’s four essential ingredients, according to Kelly.

  1. An ability to enforce clear, healthy boundaries. Sure, you may know what healthy boundaries are, but are you really enforcing them? Once you start enforcing them, you’ll see a difference in your life… and in your happiness.
  2. Rock solid self-confidence. It takes rock solid self-confidence to enforce those healthy boundaries! You’ll never feel happy if you’re not treated the way you want to be treated, so make sure you stand up for yourself.
  3. A deep relationship with yourself. You feel more confident, worthy, and grounded when you truly know who you are. That includes your strengths and weaknesses as well as your dreams, talents, etc.
  4. A willingness to free yourself from past pain. By the time you’re an adult, there’s a ton of stored-up emotional experiences in your brain. Release them! It takes work but relax your mind and try to sweet out the clutter to free yourself.
