Believe it or not, it’s almost the holiday season, which means plenty of folks are making their travel plans, if they haven’t done so already. Well, if you’re one of those people who still need to book your visit home for the holidays, Expedia is offering up some travel hacks that may help save you some dough and avoid delays.
Hacks include:
- Book Airfare on Sunday – The site reports that booking flights on a Sunday compared to a Friday, will save travelers 5% on domestic flights and 15% on International travel.
- Book At Least A Month In Advance – If you’re traveling domestically, be smart and book your travel at least a month prior, which could save you as much as 10%, compared to last minute bookings. For International travel, you’ll want to book six months before for the same deal (so maybe keep that in mind for next year).
- Book Flights That Leave Before 3 pm – Cancelations are a real thing to worry about, and data shows there’s a 50% higher chance of a cancelation or delay for flights that leave after 3 pm, compared to earlier flights.
- Depart on a Wednesday – While most people would probably prefer to leave on a Friday or Saturday, departing on a Wednesday could save you up to 15%. The priciest days to leave are Saturday to Monday.
