Everybody loves to get a compliment, but some compliments aren’t always as nice as the person giving them thinks they are. In fact, such backhanded compliments can be strange, or even downright insulting.
Well now folks are sharing those insulting compliments, after someone on Reddit asked “What is the most backhanded compliment you have ever received?”
Responses include:
- “You’ve gained some weight but you wear it well.”
- "Wow, that's a really great picture of you! It doesn't look like you at all!"
- "I don't care what anybody says, I like you."
- “A guy at a sandwich shop said to me just yesterday ‘anyone ever tell you you look like that actor that was in…’ and he trailed off trying to think of who I reminded him of (naturally in my head I’m thinking Ben Affleck, lol) and then he says ‘the guy from Mall Cop.’ Yup, Paul Blart. My wife and son thought it was pretty funny.”

- “You're going bald, but you're still kinda handsome.”
