People Reveal What They Value Most In Relationships

Nobody’s relationship is perfect, but you have to hope for most people the good outweighs the bad. And for many, there are certain aspects to a relationship that are way more important than others and now folks are spilling the beans on what those are.

It all started when someone on Reddit posed the question “What do you value in relationships the most?,” and there were plenty of people who were happy to share. Responses include:

  • “Communication, trust, honesty, respect. Intimacy and loyalty as well.”
  • “Acceptance. Acceptance of who we are and appreciation of that, instead of "I'll be happy when you change xyz."
  • “Being treated as an equal.”
  • “The feeling that they want you and want to be as close to you as you want to be to them, never feeling like you’re the clingy one because they are just as clingy.”
  • “Support and stability. I like being there for the person so I would want them to be there for me too. Encouraging, celebrating, helping when you’re down, those kinds of things.”
  • “Having a built in best friend! It’s the best to talk for hours at night! Going out on fun dates, talk about work, wearing pajamas and making pasta, and feeling like you couldn’t be happier.”
  • “Honesty. Not just telling the truth but disclosing other things that might be important. It's how trust is built.”
  • “Consistency. At a minimum, I don’t want to have to guess where we might be on any given day.”
  • “trust. if u cant trust them u cant start anything or fall in love . it can also break love too. liers cheaters etc. they suck
  • “When someone makes my life easier, not harder. Too many men that I've dated just add to the work I do on a daily basis or they make normal tasks more challenging.”
  • “Being able to be myself unapologetically.”
  • “The love. I mean to love and be loved is the single greatest feeling in the world.”
  • “Having one.”
