Halloween is Sunday, and while trick-or-treating is a huge highlight for kids, some families like to get together for a night of spooky movies. While things like “Halloween” and “Nightmare on Elm Street” aren’t exactly kid-friendly holiday fare, there are some spooky movies suitable for kids, and now a new report reveals which ones are most popular.
- USDish has come out with a list of the most popular spooky children’s movies by state.
- The list is based on the most popular googled Halloween movies rated PG or G.
- The movie that tops the most states is “Scooby Doo,” the top search in 13 states including Alabama, Michigan, and North and South Carolina.
- Other popular spooky kids movies include:
- “Coraline,” a top search in 10 states including California, Nevada and Utah.
- “Ghostbusters,” a top search in eight, including Pennsylvania, Virginia and Missouri.
- “Beetlejuice,” a top search in five states, including Vermont, South Dakota, Delaware and here in Arkansas.
- “Hocus Pocus,” a top search in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
- And even “ET,” a top search in Hawaii, Florida, Maryland and Maine.
