TV Binges Shrink Your Brain...If You’re Middle-Aged

A recently released study seems to have confirmed something that many people have suspected for years; watching too much television shrinks your brain. What’s interesting is that the scientists at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore say they’ve found evidence that it’s the literal truth.

The study was conducted between 1990 and 2011, and the results say that every hour over two hours watched per day by people between 30 and 50 years old physically shrinks their brain; every extra hour was linked to a 0.5% reduction in grey matter. The team says their findings could be important in helping identify and prevent the causes of dementia.
