Back-To-School Anxiety High For Both Parents & Teachers

Some kids are already back-to-school, and others will be headed there in the coming weeks. And while parents are understandably anxious about the new school year, they aren’t the only ones. A new survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf ofOffice Depot finds:

  • Anxiety is not only high for parents this school year, but for teachers as well.
  • 54% of both parents and teachers say the new school year is filling them with more anxiety than they had pre-pandemic.
  • Three-fourths of teachers say they are more worried than ever that students won’t be prepared for school this fall. 
  • For parents, their biggest fear is their child contracting COVID (50%) followed by the safety and cleanliness of the school (40%)
  • For teachers, 57% are most worried about their students having fallen behind academically.
  • As for what teachers feel should be a priority in the classroom this year, they say it should be:
  • Inclusivity (92%)
  • Helping students feel more confident (91%)
  • Having proper cleaning protocols (80%)
