Bedtime habits get a lot of attention but all the sleep in the world doesn’t matter if you keep on slapping the snooze button and mess up how you start your day. If you haven’t reviewed your AM hours in a while, let this be a wake-up call to you. Here are some signs your morning routine needs a revamp below.
- You feel unproductive. If you’re in a funk at work, it might be because of how you handle yourself before you clock in. Meditation guide Brandon Dawson-Jarvis says a great morning routine can “solidify your habits over an extended period of time and good habits produce ideal results.” Your habits right after you wake up should get you feeling productive and give you some momentum to keep that going at work.
- You feel drained. If you’ve been feeling exhausted you might not be prioritizing yourself enough in the mornings. Start working some self-care into your wake-up routine. That could mean a workout, or journaling, or meditation… something you enjoy doing, and energizes you.
- You never wake up excited. Not everyone is a morning person but even the night owls should be waking up feeling excited for their day. Your morning routine should be filling you with positive vibes and ready to seize the day. You may never be the ‘wake up at 4am and go for a jog’ type of person but you should be the type to get your mind right.
