We're Looking To Christmas & Christmas Trees For Happy Memories This Year

The holiday season will be here before you know it, and while it certainly won’t be the same as in years past, that doesn’t mean folks are dreading it. According to a new survey by the Christmas Tree Promotion Board (do they really need one?):

  • 92% of adults expect that Christmas will be different this year.
  • But 91% of those people are confident those differences will be a good thing.
  • Because of what’s going on, 72% of people say creating good memories is more important than ever, with 86% saying you can still make good memories in bad times.
  • As for what adults will be focused on this holiday season:
  • 84% want to make their home a more pleasant place, physically.
  • Emotionally, 82% want to make Christmas more memorable.
  • 78% want to make it the best Christmas for their kids.
  • 38% expect it will be less hectic this year, while 35% are looking to create new traditions.
  • The poll notes that 61% of people say the pandemic is making them want to spend more money on experiences rather than things, and apparently that includes their Christmas tree.
  • 76% consider a real Christmas tree an “experience” and “special," rather than just an "product."
  • When it comes to artificial trees, 21% who had one last year admit they are more likely to get a real one this year.
  • Many say it’s because they want to add more cheer to their holiday, especially considering everything that happened this year.
