Lots of people are documenting how they’re spending their social distancing time on social media these days and it’s helping keep us entertained. One Massachusetts family is using their time at home together to have extravagant themed dinners and they’re sharing them on TikTok for the world to enjoy.
It’s 14-year-old Derek Cannuscio who’s behind these theatrical feasts. He comes up with a theme, then prepares a dinner for his family that goes with it. Some of the ones they’ve had so far include an in-flight dining experience, hibachi-style meal, Hooters, Mexican night, and a romantic “Cinderella”-themed dinner for his parents. And his sister uploads all the unique dining experiences to herTikTok account.
The teen says he got the idea for the airplane meal because he’s an aviation enthusiast and he felt bad when his sister couldn’t go on her spring break trip, so he wanted to recreate the experience for her and the family. “I like to make them laugh,” Derek says. “Life’s too serious right now.”
