The KFC Double Down sandwich is a legendary menu item for many fans of the KFC chain. It was first released back in 2010 and brought back in 2014 before disappearing from menus soon after. It’s a breadless sandwich containing two extra-crispy fried breast cutlets replacing the buns with a filling of bacon, cheese, and special sauce. There have been calls to return the item to restaurants with petitions on Change.org and Facebook and it looks like their calls have been answered.
The Double Down is coming to KFC restaurants nationwide on March 6 but some lucky fans can get an early taste on March 5 by going to www.kfcdoubledown.com and pre-ordering a sandwich beginning today, March 2. The Double Down will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out and it’s a one-sandwich-per-customer limit. Even though it’s admittedly high in fat, sodium, and calorie content the demand still seems to be high and everyone is happy again.

Burger King has announced that a spicy version of BK Chicken Fries will be coming to menus nationwide at participating locations beginning March 6 through May 14, 2023. The original Chicken Fries were introduced in 2005 and were taken on and off of the menu until 2015 when they became a permanent offering.
Burger King fans are excited about the new spicy chicken fries with one Redditor chiming in with “I don’t expect [it] to be spicy but hopefully more flavor” and another saying “I’m a big fan of the chicken fries so I look forward to trying these out.” In the past, Burger King offered other variations of these including jalapēno chicken fries, pretzel chicken fries, and Buffalo chicken fries but these will only be available for a limited time until the May 14 date.
In other Burger King news, Burger King Melts are returning to the Spring menu after first being introduced in 2022. There will be three versions – Classic Melt, Spicy Melt, and Bacon Melt. All three melts have two Whopper Jr. beef patties topped with melted American cheese and caramelized onions between two buns. The Classic Melt features Stacker sauce, the Spicy Melt has spicy sauce and jalapēnos and the Bacon Melt has standard toppings and bacon.

There’s a new ice cream flavor coming to Baskin-Robbins that’s a twist on a popular brunch item – Chick’n & Waffles Ice Cream. It’s the March flavor of the month for the chain and is said to taste like fried chicken without any chicken at all. Here are the details:
- Buttermilk waffle-flavored ice cream
- Crispy Chick’n & Waffle flavored bites
- Bourbon maple flavored swirl drizzled throughout
Baskin-Robbins will be having its first-ever Bottomless Brunch in New York City on Tuesday, March 7 to celebrate the new flavor where you can grab your own unlimited scoops. The location is at the Baskin-Robbins location at 1225 1st Avenue in NYC and the promotion is at brunch time (of course!) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. EST. The unlimited scoops are only available while supplies last so if you want a taste you may want to plan on getting there early.
