5 Red Flags To Look Out For...In Yourself

You hear about looking out for red flags in others, but what about in yourself? Relationship expert Kate Mansfield is saying that there are some toxic traits that you should keep an eye out for in yourself that may be keeping you from having a healthy relationship. Here are six behaviors in yourself that you want to keep an eye out for.

  1. Avoidance. Examples are claiming you’re too “busy” to date or actually staying busy to avoid being alone.
  2. Obsession and fantasy. Instead of taking the time to get to know someone, you project what you want them to be.
  3. Anxiety and anxious attachment. Committing too soon and having weak boundaries are all unhealthy.
  4. Being too nice. Don’t be unauthentically nice or being too agreeable because you don’t want to start a fight.
  5. Being too competitive or argumentative. On the flip side, you don’t want to come off as too mean or competitive, or always looking for a fight.
