The red flag emoji was one of the most frequently used emojis in Tinder bios, data from the app showed. So, what are these “red flags” that can keep you from having a relationship? Here are the biggest four, according to Tinder and Hinge users.
- Getting drunk on a first date. Hinge data found that three out of four singles don’t want to grab drinks for a first date. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed said sober dates help them know the person better.
- Being “too into” Instagram or Snapchat. Hinge data also found that people “too into” Instagram or Snapchat tend to be self-absorbed. Seventy-four percent of those surveyed don’t event want to date someone who’s constantly on social.
- Not knowing about politics or social issues. Tinder data found that 75% of users wanted a match who were invested in social issues or respected theirs. Almost half said that being a non-voter is a “deal breaker.”
- Bringing up trauma. Ninety-three percent of Hinge users prefer to date someone who’s emotionally vulnerable. But, Hinge data found that users don’t want potential matches to bring up deep-rooted trauma right off the bat.
